Week 15: Kameceya Gardner

This week I learned that Savings is money put up for a later time. Saving is something you do (Adding money). A short term savings goal is something that you pan to do for less than a year. !. Emergency Fund. Long term is anything over a year. Intermediate savings goal is anything more than a year, but less than 5 years. 1. Voluntary Saving- Willing setting aside money for savings. 2. Consumption Saving- When you use less than what you need to save money. 3. Forced Saving- When money is taken without your approval. Advantages of being an entrepreneur: Make your own money Non-monetary Benefits of being an entrepreneur: Personal creativity, being your own boss, Credit for what you accomplish. Disadvantages of starting a business include: High risk failure, You can never get away from it

Week 14: Kameceya Gardner

This week is going to be a short week in our personal finance class. I learned a lot of things about stocks and the stock market again. I learned about how federal, which is the government, banks protect your money if you invest it with them. It is also good to keep money in a savings account just incase you need extra money. Call it a rainy day account

This week we learned about mutual funds, stocks limit orders and equities. Everyone in the class is now apart of a virtual stock manager called up down. Here we use virtual money to buy and sell stock so that we can understand how this process works. It is pretty fun and very competitive.

Week 12 By: Kameceya Gardner

This week is a short week and our teacher is having us turn in our work a day early. This week we learned about the stock market and investing in different stocks. Also we are now :virtual millionaires and we have $100,000,000 in virtual stock that we can invest, but we will not gain any real money.

Week 11 By: Kameceya Gardner

This week we spent most of our time doing retakes for our modules. I really don't think that I can teach anything that I haven't already talked about in the previous post I have done. Also we had to pick a car that we would want in the future and find out all the information about it, as far as cost of insurance payments and upkeep.

Week 9 By: Kameceya Gardner

This week I missed a lot of time because I was sick, and I didn't get a chance to get all of the notes that I missed while I was gone, so I had to finish that today. I also had fun finding out how much my trip to China would cost. It was cool to find that out. Now since I can't really teach you guys anything in my blog this week. I'm out peoples!

Week 8 By: Kameceya Gardner

This week I really don't remember what happened. We did alot of different things and our teacher wasn't here for a couple of days so things really moved kind of fast. Some of the questions we had to figure out answers to this week were What factors should you consider when deciding whether to rent or buy? and List four different types of housing you can own. Mrs. Wright gave a lecture to answer these questions for us, then we did everything else by ourselves.
